Assessment of aldehyde contributions to PTR-MS m/z 69.07 in indoor air measurements

نویسندگان

چکیده

PTR m / z 69.07 commonly attributed to isoprene suffers interference from C 5 –C 10 aldehydes indoors, especially when ozone is present. The contribution of nonanal could be quantified by using the protonated molecular ion, unlike other aldehydes.

Water vapour flux measurements with PTR-MS

The most direct approach for measuring the exchange of biogenic volatile organic compounds between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere is the eddy covari-ance technique. It has been applied several times in the last few years using fast response proton-transfer-reaction mass spectrometry (PTR-MS). We present an inde-5 pendent validation of this technique by applying it to measure the wate...

Technical Note: Determination of formaldehyde mixing ratios in air with PTR-MS: laboratory experiments and field measurements

Formaldehyde (HCHO), the most abundant carbonyl compound in the atmosphere, is generated as an intermediate product in the oxidation of nonmethane hydrocarbons. Proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry (PTR-MS) has the capability to detect HCHO from ion signals at m/z 31 with high time-resolution. However, the detection sensitivity is low compared to other detectable species, and is considera...

measurements for indoor air quality assessment at the capodimonte museum in naples (italy)

the state of works of art exhibited inside museums can be strongly influenced by indoor air quality, due to chemical activity of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter. for that reason it is important to carry out periodic air quality controls to check if the concentration levels of air pollutants comply with the limits specified by the national laws. in this work we show results obtained i...
